I wanted to share an update on Groomer's Tool. While a major version (V.13.01) was released three months ago, several significant updates have now been integrated into the latest version: V.13.04.

Here's a recap on what has been released in V13.01~V13.04.

Interactive Curve Tools

Sculpt/Add:

These two tools now can be found in the Interactive Curve Tool UI.

Drag Cut:

Users can now select curves and drag to display point distance to cut curves.
Reverse drag cut direction (from root, instead of tip of curves) is also available.

Draw:

Draw curves directly on mesh, with smoothing options and trajectory display in real time like the pencil curve tool.
With curve(s) selected, extend the drawn curve to selected curves

Attach:

With curves selected, drag to select along the length of selected curves to attach.

Move:

With curves selected, drag to move on a mesh. The mesh needs to have the transforms frozen.

Extend:

extend curves with % of their length

In V.13.04, it is now compatible with Maya's Marking Radial Menu! Please follow this link to set it up!

Curve to Cards/Tubes/Twist

If you have been utilizing the curves to proxies tool, you will surely love these new feature enhancements!

Ability to add/remove curves
Added an information box is added to show which layer selected strand is in
Clicking on the E button next to the info box will quickly open the control for selected proxy geo.
Toggle UI expansion, user can now set UI window bigger by clicking the S, M, L button
Ability to rename layers
Full layer selection and visibility/lock/move controls
Right clicking on a layer will allow adding/removing selected curves/proxy groups from the layer.
Users can now copy and paste settings to 'multiple' layers now.
Users can now choose to create separate layers for each selected curve with the ‘Separate Layers’ checkbox.
When the "Edit UI" is open and when the ‘Target’ Tab is active, it will now automatically show the controls for selected proxies, without the need to click the ‘Show Selected Strand’ button anymore.

Curve Snap Tool - Snap Entire Curve

I have also added the ability to snap entire curves. This feature will be particularly useful for transferring existing groom curves to another model while maintaining the overall shapes of the curves.

Snap XGen Guide to Curve

I’ve also added a fall-off ramp for snapping XGen guides. This feature works like XGen’s “Target Guide” but includes ramp control. Plus, you don’t need to have the same number of CVs in the guides you want to snap.
